Manitoba lets residents order beer, wine, and spirits directly from an authorized producer in another participating province, under the 2026-07-21 CFTA Operating Agreement. Manitoba isn't new to this: the province was already open to direct-to-consumer sales of beer, wine, and spirits with Alberta back in 2018, years ahead of the multilateral deal, and confirmed its own commitment to removing DTC alcohol barriers again in a 2025 bilateral agreement with Ontario.

For consumers
If you live in Manitoba, you can order beer, wine, or spirits directly from an authorized producer in another participating province. There's no special registration to receive a shipment. You do need to meet Manitoba's legal drinking age of 18. Orders come either straight from the producer or through a licensed third-party shipper.
For producers
If you're a Manitoba brewery selling out of province, you need a Manufacturer's Licence issued by the LGCA.
Selling DTC into Manitoba is governed by The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act. Unlike most other provinces, Manitoba doesn't require out-of-province producers to get a separate authorization before selling here.
Two different bodies handle liquor regulation in Manitoba, worth knowing which is which: Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) is the Crown corporation that wholesales and distributes liquor and runs the Liquor Mart stores, while the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCA) is the separate body that actually issues licences and permits.
