Terms of Service
The rules for using Drink Direct, in plain language.
Last updated July 28, 2026
The short version: Drink Direct is a free, independent research resource. Use it, share it, link to it — just don't scrape or republish it wholesale, and don't treat it as legal advice. See our disclaimer for how we source and what we don't promise.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of drinkdirect.ca, operated by Severna Technologies Ltd. (“Drink Direct,” “we,” “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
The service
Drink Direct is a free, publicly accessible informational website that summarizes and links to publicly available government and regulator sources on Canadian direct-to-consumer alcohol regulation. It is not legal, regulatory, or professional advice — see our disclaimer for the full explanation of what the site is and isn't.
Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your province or territory of residence to use this site. Drink Direct does not sell, ship, or facilitate the sale of alcohol — it publishes information about regulations only.
No account required
Browsing the site requires no account or registration. If you submit the producer sign-up form, you're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide — see our Privacy Policy for how that information is used.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, systematically extract, or bulk-download site content for republication elsewhere
- Present Drink Direct's summaries as official, government-issued, or legally authoritative
- Submit false or misleading information through the producer sign-up form
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its infrastructure
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose
Intellectual property
The original research, summaries, plain-language explanations, and compilation of sources on Drink Direct are owned by Severna Technologies Ltd. and protected by copyright. You're welcome to read, link to, and share individual pages for personal or informational use. Reproducing, republishing, or redistributing substantial portions of the site's content elsewhere requires our prior written permission.
The underlying facts and source material we summarize — government releases, regulator pages, legislation — belong to their original publishers, not to us. We link to them so you can verify our work and go to the authoritative source.
Third-party services and sources
The site links to third-party government and regulator websites we don't control and aren't responsible for. It also relies on third-party infrastructure providers (Airtable, Vercel) to operate — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Free service, no guaranteed availability
Drink Direct is provided free of charge on a best-effort basis. We may add, change, or remove content or features, or take the site down entirely, at any time and without notice. We don't guarantee any particular level of uptime or availability.
Termination
We may restrict or block access to the site for anyone who violates these terms, including automated scraping or abuse of the producer sign-up form, without prior notice.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. See our disclaimer for the full detail on accuracy and how to verify information before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Severna Technologies Ltd. and the people behind Drink Direct won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including decisions made in reliance on its content. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Severna Technologies Ltd. harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site grows. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
