For consumers
If you live in PEI, you can order beer, wine, or spirits directly from an authorized producer in another participating province. Orders come either straight from the producer or through a licensed third-party shipper. You do need to meet PEI's legal drinking age of 19. We haven't found anything from PEILCC confirming whether receiving a shipment requires special registration, so it's worth checking directly with PEILCC's general contact line (infopeilcc@liquorpei.com, 902-368-5710) before you order.
For producers
If you're a PEI brewery selling out of province, you need a Micro-Brewery, Distiller's, or Winery licence under the Liquor Control Act Regulations.
If you're based in another participating province and want to sell into PEI, you need authorization from the PEI Liquor Control Commission (PEILCC).
Cross-selling is allowed too. You're permitted to ship alcohol you didn't manufacture yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Can an out-of-province brewery ship beer directly to PEI customers?
Yes, once PEILCC has authorized you and your origin province is currently implemented by Liquor PEI.
How do I apply for Liquor PEI DTC authorization?
Submit Liquor PEI's request form with your supporting information, then wait for authorization before accepting PEI orders.
Which provinces can producers currently ship from into PEI?
Liquor PEI publishes the live list of implemented partner provinces. Check that list, or contact PEILCC directly, before enabling PEI checkout, since the operational list can change.
Can I use my own online store to sell alcohol to PEI?
Yes. As an authorized producer, you take the order and payment directly, as long as your online sales and delivery process follows your PEILCC authorization.
Can I sell multiple Canadian alcohol brands through PEI's DTC program?
Cross-selling is permitted in principle, but your specific PEILCC authorization controls what you're actually allowed to sell. Confirm a multi-brand catalogue with PEILCC before publishing it.
Can I order alcohol from another province and have it shipped to PEI?
Yes, when the producer and its origin province are currently authorized by Liquor PEI.
Which Canadian breweries ship beer directly to PEI?
Breweries authorized by Liquor PEI and included in the current program. Check the live authorized-producer information before you buy.
Can I order wine, cider, or spirits from another province in PEI?
Yes, those categories may be available depending on the producer's authorization and origin province.
How can I check whether a producer is approved to ship alcohol to PEI?
Check Liquor PEI's current DTC page or ask the producer to confirm its PEILCC authorization before ordering.
Do I need to show ID for an alcohol delivery in PEI?
Yes. You need to be at least 19, and you should expect age verification when the shipment arrives.
