Ahead of the broader nationwide agreement, Ontario and Nova Scotia's own bilateral deal goes live: the LCBO and NSLC begin authorizing producers from each other's province to ship directly to consumers, with applications opening in early March 2026. It's the first two-way, all-alcohol direct-to-consumer market in Canada — the BC–Alberta program that came before it covered wine only.

Producers could apply the day the deal took effect, but authorizations were issued over the following weeks rather than instantly, so there's a real lag between the agreement's signing and the first actual sale.
