It's the first interprovincial direct-to-consumer alcohol sale in Canada to actually happen, rather than just be announced.
The program stays wine-only and one-directional (BC to Alberta), but its registration-and-remittance structure becomes the model every multi-province and all-alcohol deal on this timeline borrows from over the following two years.
